My uncle Yuri’s class picture. One boy has a pioneer neckerchief, a symbol of USSR regime in 1950’s Lithuania. That made me think: people had to be very careful about what they say or do, because someone may be listening and reporting, which was normal at that time. This painting was created for Something Wicked show, where I asked people to vote, and pick The Snitch. I added wicked eyes and teeth to create a whole different dimension to the group. My uncle is the only one without the wicked eyes or teeth, because he’s perfect.
