Tunikas and his Wife

My grandparents, Yuri & Olga’s parents. There’s a lot of family history involved in this portrait. Tunikas was a drunk and a cheater, and was cut out from family albums by my mother. Only wedding photos remained. The roses are symbols for offspring: 3 black, and 4 living.  Yuri, the black rose on grandma Stefania’s heart, died very young and broke her heart. She died within a year…
